Justin Knowles’ work is represented in a number of public collections including Tate Britain. His one-man shows within the UK include Serpentine Gallery, London (1970), Museum of Modern Art, Oxford (1970), Waddington Galleries, London (1973), Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter (1997).

Abstract artist and sculptor, born in Exeter, Devon; self taught as a geometric abstract artist, creating large sculptures and working drawings; after National Service 1955-7 worked in industry and advertising; travelled extensively on the continent and in Africa; taught at Bath Academy of Art 1965 and Exeter College of Art and Design 1974; included in 'The New Generation 1966' at the Whitechapel; several solo exhibitions include Plymouth City Art Gallery 1967, Waddington Galleries 1973 and a retrospective at The National Technical Museum, Prague, 2002.
